MINOT – The Minot Historical Society met July 11 at the home of Bill and Becky Gould, who served a luncheon, which was followed by a brief meeting. Donna Berry served a dessert of strawberry shortcake before a tour of the flower gardens.
Arbors and small wooden ladders could be seen with varieties of clematis clinging to them. Roses draped over the tops of the stone walls, and there were poppies, lilies, hostas and English delphiniums.
The next meeting of the society will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the Minot Town Office. The speaker will be Lucille Hodsdon on “Schools of Minot in the 1850s.” Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served.
