HAMPTON BEACH, N.H. (AP) – Part of the concrete roof at Hampon Beach’s Seashell Stage collapsed during the weekend.
It happened in the middle of the night and no one was hurt. The state has made a temporary fix, but also has closed off two wings of the stage, which is used for outdoor musical performances.
Parks and Recreation Director Allison McLean said the roof collapsed after heavy rain Saturday night. McLean said a more permanent solution is expected in the fall, when the state hires an engineer to recommend what to do with the stage.
