MEXICO – Vacation Bible School leaders at First Baptist Church are making sure personalized play passports are stamped and ready for departure.

A new adventure called “Trading Places” is about to begin. The program will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 4. Parents are invited to join the fun on Friday.

“Kids will be divided into tour groups and will imagine visiting exotic places where they will encounter kids from all over the world,” said Cindy Gallant, school director. “We’ll see where they live and learn some fascinating stories about their cultures.

We’re going to play their games and taste some of their food and hear stories about how they came to know Jesus. Along the way we’ll learn what it would be like to ‘trade places’ with people who live in Mexico, Brazil, Poland, China and Kenya.”

Missionary Matt Peters will bring two teens from South Korea as guests for the week.

The church fellowship hall has been transformed into Travel Central, with room for singing Passport Praises and visiting the International Food Court. There will also be time for fun and games, visits with Bible guides and a different first class craft every day.

Local children are welcome to sign up at the World Tour Ticket Counter in the church at 20 Roxbury Rd. for daily departures at 6 p.m. Call 364-8712 or 357-1250 for details.
