DIXFIELD – The following reports were made by the Dixfield Police Department:
Arrest
• Danny G. Enberg, 53, of Shady Brook Drive, Dixfield, on a charge of operating under the influence, at 2:12 a.m. July 20, on Route 2. He was transported to Oxford County Jail and is scheduled to appear in 11th District Court, Northern Oxford Division, on Sept. 5.
Accidents
• On July 21 at 12:45 a.m., David J. Weinstein, 61, of Jamaica Plains, Mass., struck a moose as he was driving his 2005 Subaru station wagon north on Route 142 near the Carthage town line. About $1,500 damage to the front end and windshield of the vehicle was estimated. Neither Weinstein, nor a passenger, Laura Foner, 62, was injured.
• At the same location at 4:30 p.m. July 27, Theodore H. Googins, 43, of Shaker Road, Gray, was driving north when a moose walked into the road. Googins’ 1994 GMC pickup truck sustained about $2,000 to the right front. The moose continued to walk off into the woods and was not found. Googins’ passenger, Mary Googins, was not injured.
• A deer was killed at 5:47 p.m. July 21 on Route 2 when it ran into the 2003 Chevrolet sedan driven by Lawrence F. McKenna, 78, of Rumford. McKenna was driving west when the incident occurred. McKenna’s vehicle sustained about $3,000 damage to the left front and sides sections. He wasn’t hurt.
