NEWPORT, N.H. (AP) – A man died in the fast-moving Sugar River during an outing with his wife.
Ed Baker, 51, went underwater Monday after swimming for about 45 minutes.
When rescuers arrived, Baker was submerged in fast-moving water and clinging to a large branch, police said.
