AUBURN – Alice G. Dow, 81, of Clinton, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Androscoggin Hospice House after a short illness.

She was born in Norridgewock on Sept. 25, 1924, a daughter of the late Ernest and Georgia (Tibbits) Wade.

After graduation she attended the University Of Maine and then served her country for three years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. She married Norman Dow on Nov. 7, 1975; he died in 1987. She was a member of the Brown Memorial Methodist Church in Clinton and also a member of the Civil Air Patrol for many years.

She leaves a sister, Doris Crowell of Sabattus; six nieces, Cheryl Harper and husband, Brian, of Sabattus, Colleen Lebel and husband, Pat, of West Poland, Clover Bedard of Washington, Shirley Pinard and husband, Richard, of Sabattus, Marie Hinkley and husband, David, of Sabattus and Jeanie Deschaine and husband, Bert, of Sabattus; two nephews, Wade Keith and wife, Nancy, of Auburn and Michael Crowell of Sabattus; and many great-nieces and nephews.
