AUBURN – Gertrude Rubenstein, 92, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Clover Manor.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on May 12, 1914, the daughter of Morris Goldberg and Minnie Finkelstein. She attended schools in Brooklyn. She was a devoted daughter, sister and aunt who was employed as a factory worker her entire life.
She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed crafting. Most of her time since retiring, was spent doing volunteer work. Her most beloved charity was Deborah Hospital in New Jersey, where she lived most of her life.
She will be buried along side her husband, Morris, at Temple Shalom Cemetery in Somerville, N.J. It was her wish that she be buried with her husband whom she loved very much. She will be remembered for the devotion she showed her family on a daily basis. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Goldie Goldberg of Auburn, who was considered to be her “sister”; her nieces and nephews including, Marion and Paul Rausch and their children, Amy, Matthew, Holly and Grayce.
She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
