LEWISTON – An accident at Ash and Bates streets Sunday evening resulted in minor injuries.

Two cars driven by Deanna Louis, 41, and Omar Mohamed, 29, collided where the streets intersect around 5 p.m. Sunday.

Mohamed complained of shoulder pain and was sent to the hospital. Two juvenile passengers in Louis’ car, ages 12 and 14, were also sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

Damages were estimated at $1,500 for both vehicles.

The accident was still under investigation Sunday night. Lewiston police officer William Russo was interviewing witnesses in order to determine if one of the drivers ran a red light.
