RANGELEY – Dr. William B. Toms will provide medical care at the the Rangeley Region Health Center from the end of August through the month of October to fill in for another physician.
Toms has been a seasonal resident of Rangeley for more than 50 years with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Prior to his service at Rangeley, Toms practiced medicine in New Hampshire for more than 30 years. He practiced family medicine with the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Practice in Keene, N.H., for 27 of those years. At Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Toms served as the chief medical officer and has extensive experience in medical administration.
Toms graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1967 with a bachelor’s of arts degree. He went on to earn his medical degree from Yale Medical School as well as a master’s degree in public health from the Yale University School of Public Health in 1971. He completed his family practice residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center in 1974. He is board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine.
