HEBRON – The Hebron Historical Society presented a program on the Rev. John Tripp on July 25 at the Hebron Community Baptist Church. Tripp was the first minister of the church as well as a co-founder of Hebron Academy.

Doug Cooper, a relative of Tripp, presented details from the family research he had done and read from the diaries he had found.

Cooper was brought up in Washington State and served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He later began a quest for family history, which led him to Hebron and Tripp. Cooper and his wife, Nancy, reside in Norway.

The next Hebron Historical Society program will be a symposium on C.H. George, a Hebron citizen, selectman and wounded American Civil War veteran, at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18. The program will be held at the town office.
