On July 21, the Sun Journal printed a letter that I wrote, very hastily, that was a response to a very secular, liberal one. Since then, I have read two letters that were critical of my letter.
I do not wish to get into a harangue of political and religious views, but I would like to state a few biblical truths that will make for better understanding.
I believe Christians are commissioned by Christ to preach the Gospel to every creature. We are told to be doers of the word, not hearers only. I also believe that Christians are co-laborers with God, and that we are to study to show ourselves approved.
Of course, Christians should not force their beliefs on another, but we ought to share them. I do not believe in ridiculing or condemning anyone. Sharing what I know with another person, out of love and concern for their salvation, in no way takes away from their free will to choose or decide how they will react to it.
We all have free will. I believe that if we all depended on that alone to get to heaven, we would all end up in hell. Our free will needs to be guided, enlightened and aided by truth to help us make the right decisions.
