RANGELEY – Roy A. Smith, 96, of Rangeley died Monday, Aug. 7, at his home.

He was born on Dec. 13, 1909, in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, the son of Robert and Julia (Albipart) Smith. He was educated in the schools of Parrsboro, Nova Scotia and Brookline, Mass.

On April 30, 1960, he married Alice R. Quimby in Rangeley.

Roy worked as a Realtor in Massachusetts and later retired to Maine. He was a 65-year-plus member of the Norwood, Mass., Rotary Club. He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends.

His greatest joy was his family, including his wife of 46 years, Alice; his three daughters, Beverly Kelly Dodds and her husband, G.W., of Sea Ranch, Calif., Kimberly O’Brien and her husband, Kevin, of Snellville, Ga., and Kelly Bachelder and her husband, Odie, of Rangeley; his son, L. Danny Smith and his wife, Maxine, of Walpole, Mass.; nine grandchildren, John and Christopher Kelly, Keith Eisele, Lynsie and Chelsea Bachelder, Christopher and Kelly O’Brien, Emily and Nathan Smith; four great-grandchildren, Mary Grace, John, Sawyer, and Tristyn; and his brother, Henry Smith of Dover, Mass.
