LEWISTON – The popular Lewiston Rec Fall Softball League is scheduled to start on Sunday, Sept. 10. The league will operate on Sundays (doubleheaders) for 8 weeks.

Tourney is planned

BRUNSWICK – A benefit softball tournament to help raise money for Ruby Tuesday/MJ’s team for its trip to the nationals, will be held August 25-27 at the Knights of Columbus in Brunswick. It’ll be a double-elimination event, with trophies being awarded to the first, second and third place teams. Entry fee is $150. Auburn Players’ League

AUBURN – Fourteen teams are set to compete for the top prize as the Auburn Players’ League post-season tourney begin Monday.

E.S.M. is the favorite, with at least 3 other clubs considered to having a good shot at the trophy.

Following is Monday’s opening slate: Game 1, Hart Transportation vs Tail Gators, Lakeview-1, 6:00; Game 2, Gritty’s vs Meineke Car Care, Pett., 6:00; Game 3, Motor Home Center vs RDB Construction, Pett., 7:30.
