EAST GREENWICH, R.I. – Pauline (Attwood) Swanson, 81, a longtime resident of East Greenwich, R.I., died July 10.

Born in Auburn on Jan. 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Deane and Ada (Bartlett) Attwood. She was a 1942 graduate of Edward Little High School.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and was active in the Mission Group.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Conrad G. Swanson; her children, Carol S. Drought and husband, John, of Coventry, R.I., Richard P. Swanson and wife, Susan, of East Greenwich, R.I., Lynette J. Swanson and husband, Rory Gilbert, of Northbrook, Ill., Deane A. Swanson and wife, Kathleen, of Glastonbury, Conn., and Conrad G. Swanson Jr. and wife, Kelly, of East Greenwich, R.I.; a brother, Philip S. Attwood of Old Orchard Beach; and seven grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Marjory Jeffrey; and a brother, Richard Attwood.
