GREENWICH, Conn. (AP) – A woman was killed early Sunday after she was struck by several cars while walking along Interstate 95 in Greenwich.

State police said the woman was spotted walking in the right shoulder of the northbound side near Exit 5 around 1:30 a.m. when a vehicle pulled up in the shoulder. Witnesses said the woman then walked into the travel lanes of the highway where she was struck by a vehicle that did not stop. Several vehicles that came up on the scene also hit the woman and did not stop.

Authorities are trying to identify the victim. She is described as black, about 5-foot-4 and 120 pounds. The incident closed the highway for several hours.
