LEWISTON – Dr. Edward Walworth, chairman of the board of directors of the Maine Music Society, has announced that Dana F. Connors has joined the board.
Connors is president of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce. As the executive leader of the 5,000-member business association, Connors oversees its advocacy efforts, economic development initiatives, international trade opportunities and a variety of member services on behalf of the state’s business community.
As leader of the Maine Chamber for nearly 12 years, he dedicates his energy to achieving goals that will grow Maine’s economy and enhance prosperity for all Maine people.
Connors served as former Gov. Angus King’s transition team director in order to assist in the selection of key cabinet and administration appointments as well as insure a smooth transition process and later served the same role at the request of Gov. John Baldacci.
He has served on numerous federal, state and regional boards and commissions as well as several non-governmental boards of directors. Connors holds a bachelor’s degree in public management from the University of Maine.
Returning to the board of directors is Colleen Lahey, who holds an executive position with Liberty Mutual Insurance. A past president of the society board, Lahey has devoted time and effort to several local nonprofit boards.
Walworth stated, “Both of these citizens will bring wisdom and experience to bear in the vital task of promoting the cultural well-being of the Lewiston/Auburn community, just as they have been doing in the economic sector.”
The Maine Music Society, which consists of the Androscoggin Chorale and Maine Chamber Ensemble, enriches the intellectual and cultural climate of greater Lewiston/Auburn through a series of concerts each year.
