Lewiston – Gordon J. Soucy, 49, of Lewiston passed away at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
He was born on June 21, 1957, in Gardiner, a son of the late George Andrew Soucy Sr. and Leona Marie (Taylor) Soucy. He was educated in the Oakland and Belgrade school systems and went on to work various jobs, including his time doing CNA work and caring for people; this he greatly enjoyed.
He was a very giving person with a great sense of humor and often times kept everyone laughing; he was a big kid at heart. He enjoyed getting to know his neighbors and cooking for them. Cooking was one of his great joys in life as well as gardening.
He is survived by his companion of 13 years, Jeff Larochelle of Lewiston; his two sisters, Glenda Soucy-Bent and husband, David, of Norridgewock and Darlene Bonneface of Belgrade; four brothers, George Andrew Soucy Jr. and wife, June, of Pittston, Bruce Soucy and wife, Janet, of Belgrade, Ricky Soucy and wife, Lisa, of Augusta and Kenneth Soucy of Sidney; four stepsiblings, a stepsister, Nancy Doiron of Gorham, and his three stepbrothers, Mark, John and Jeff Soucy, all of Mount Vernon; his goddaughter and niece, Jade Tran of Norridgewock; Carl Benton Straub of Lewiston, who was like a father to Gordon; his close friend, Don Weatherbee of Brunswick; his loving dog, Paco; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; and two sisters, Brenda and Mary Soucy.
