LEWISTON – Funeral services were held Saturday for John P. Legendre at Holy Cross Church, following prayers at the Fortin Group Funeral Home. The Rev. Kevin Martin officiated at the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

A eulogy was given at church by his granddaughter, Dr. Susan Ropacki, and military honors at the cemetery included the playing of Taps and a formal presentation of the American flag to his widow. Pallbearers, all of whom are department supervisors at Enterprise Foundry, were Tom Bouchard, David Sirois, Richard Pelletier, Mike Caron, Roland Bonneau and Paul Mailhot.
