VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Edward Clark Bean went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 19.

He was born April 30, 1920, in Lewiston, the son of the late Edward C. and Helena Bean. He was a 1942 graduate of the Gould Academy in Bethel. He retired as a Chief Torpedoman after a 26 year career in the U.S. Navy, settling with his wife in South Paris, and later in Virginia Beach. He attended Avalon Hills Bible Church and enjoyed his many friends and collecting stamps and coins.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice Dlubala Bean; a daughter, Cynthia Boulet and her husband, Roland, of Titusville, Fla.; a granddaughter, Chelsea Boulet of the U.S. Air Force; a grandson, Cedric Bean and his companion, Amanda, of Norway; a great-grandson, Michael Bean; and many nieces and nephews.
