Auburn – Henry I Jacques, 87, of Village Street, Lisbon, died Sunday, Aug. 20, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice with his family by his side.
He was born in Van Buren on July 20, 1919, a son of the late John and Emily (Lebrun) Jacques. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, Seabees, during World War II. After the service, he became a welder for Bath Iron Works and later The Pejepscot Mill. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish, AA, 12 Hour Club and American Legion Post 158.
He leaves nieces and nephews, Norman and Kathy Jacques of Connecticut, Bob and Pam Fitzgerald of Lisbon, Scot and Peggy Therrien of Lisbon, Jeff and Kim Staggs of Lisbon, Mark and Debbie Stapples of Durham, Mike Gravel of California, Mark Gravel of California, Patrica Dube of Kittery, Ray and Linda Champagne of Topsham, Wayne and Phyllis Gorrey of Lisbon Falls and Richard Dube of Lewiston; three sisters-in-law, Pat Gravel of Lisbon Falls, Vivian Karkos of Lisbon and Jeannine Therrien of Lisbon; many great-nieces and nephews; and a special companion, his dog Timmy.
He was predeceased by his wife, Irene in June 2003; a brother, Paul Jacques; and a sister, Jean Francis.
