PORTLAND – Doris T. DeFilipp of Rumford passed away Monday, Aug. 21, shortly after arrival at Maine Medical Center. She was doing what she loved best, taking care of one of her grandchildren.

They were married for 52 years when Joe passed away Jan. 31, 2004. She was a homemaker for many years until her children were all in school. At that time she began her career at Zayre’s. She also played cards on Sunday night and Tuesday afternoon with friends. She also enjoyed playing cribbage with her friend Pauline.
She loved her friends and family and stayed active all her life, and had recently started joining her sisters at the local bingos. She was a great bowler, often getting high single and high triple. She was an avid reader and loved going to the movies, a love she shared with her daughter Debbie. She and Joe were known for dancing the polka at weddings and celebrations, much to the delight of their children and family. Every occasion was special in their household, especially birthdays.
