BANGOR – Paul S. Blouin, 75, of Newport, died Aug. 18, at Eastern Maine Medical Center, where he had been a patient for the past four weeks. He was courageously fighting complications from a two-and-a-half-year battle against cancer.

He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 23, 1930, the son of Arthur H. and Freda B. (Stafford) Blouin. He was educated in Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1950.

As a young man, he worked a variety of jobs, including construction, boat building and refinishing of all kinds, especially auto and boat. He later worked as a safety specialist for Cianbro Corp. throughout the eastern United States, retiring in 1999.

He enjoyed being an auto racing spectator. He personally enjoyed all water sports, motorcycling and traveling by auto/motorcycle throughout the United States. Conversations on conservative issues with his friends was always enjoyed. He was noted as being a history buff on World War II, and airplanes and cars.

He is survived by two sons, Paige S. Blouin and wife, Noelle, of Crestline, Calif. and Paul A. Blouin of Tillamook, Ore.; three daughters, Verna Blouin of Anaheim, Calif., Beth R. Goode and husband, Bill, of Corinna and Esther M. Ouellette and husband, Elden, of Etna; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Joan.

He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Jr.
