1953 – 2006
LEWISTON – Gerard D. Dechene, 53, of 82 Cumberland Ave., died Monday, Aug. 21, at his home.
He was born in Lewiston, July 23, 1953, the son of Treffle and Yvonne Gonthier Dechene. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1973, and from ITT Tech, with a degree in oil burner and refrigeration repair.
He was employed by Bates Mill, Dupuis and Son Movers and F.X. Marcotte Furniture Co. He was a member of the Lewiston Elks Lodge, Pastime Club and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus of Peter C. Conroy Assembly at Holy Family Parish. He enjoyed spending leisurely hours hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betty of Lewiston; his daughter, Kristine of Waldoboro; his son, James of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Michael, Autumn, Kevin and Casandra; a sister, Irene Melvin and husband, Gary, of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. “May the Mighty Great Hunter Live On !”
