1917 – 2006

FARMINGTON – Marjorie R. Blanchard, 88, of Farmington, died early Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Orchard Park Rehabilitation & Living Center.

She was born Oct. 29, 1917, in New Sharon, the daughter of Archie H. and Helen (Moore) Russell. She attended New Sharon and Farmington schools.

On Dec. 30, 1939, she married, Frank V. “Bus” Blanchard in Farmington. He died March 5, 1984.

Prior to her marriage she worked in the Registry of Deeds office. She later farmed with her husband until they both went to work for SAD 9.

She was a member of the Eastern Star No. 143 and attended Old South Congregational Church in Farmington.

She is survived by a son, Bruce R. Blanchard and his wife, Sharon, of Wilton; two daughters, Claire A. Clough of Chesterville and Linda B. Davis and her husband, Scott, of Farmington; a brother, Richard Russell and his wife, Monie, of Farmington; a sister, Sarah Rogers of Searcy, Ark.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Helen Gray, Dorothy Fulton and Vivian Hopkins; and a brother, Frank Russell.
