I was appalled to read that a Maine game warden who could not drive from Poland to Turner didn’t suggest keeping the unidentifiable animal in cold storage until he or another warden could examine it. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to identify a species never before seen in these parts.

It seems to me that the community of people cared more about the origin of this animal than a game warden, whose sole job is dealing with animals in the wild.

Shame on Maine’s Game Warden Service.
