LEWISTON – Allaire Construction (2) advanced to the finals of the American League playoffs in the Lewiston Rec Men’s Softball League Thursday night with a 15-3 victory over Ducharme (3). Allaire took the series 2-1.

The American League best-of-3 finals, Allaire vs Poland Spring (1), will begin Monday at 6 p.m. at Randall-3. Game 2 is set for Tuesday at Randall-1, with the “if” game scheduled for Wednesday at R-3.

The National League finals, matching Health Club-Buddy T’s (4) and BT Pallet (2), will also begin Monday at Randall-1. Game 2 is penciled in for Tuesday at R-3. If a deciding third contest is needed it’ll be played Wednesday at R-1.

Auburn Players League

AUBURN – In a real slugfest Thursday, E.S.M. stayed alive in the playoffs with a thrilling 17-16 victory over Motor Home. The losers left runners at second and third in the last of the 7th. In the other game, Gritty’s ousted Meineke, 6-5.

Playoffs continue Monday at Pettengill. E.S.M. will meet Gritty’s at 6 o’clock. The only 2 unbeaten clubs left, Hart Transportation and Major Automotive, will clash at 7:30. The winner of the latter game will advance to the championship round at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Pettengill. Tuesday, the loser of Hart-Major Automotive will take on the winner of E.S.M-Gritty’s at 7 o’clock at Pettengill in semifinal action.
