In reference to the article about the mysterious beast, the residents of that Turner neighborhood stated that the wardens and animal control officer did not want to investigate.
The reason for this is simple: they were probably on another “hot-sting,” with guns-a-ready, attempting to seize another restaurant owner’s goldfish from his tank. After all, isn’t that the most important part of protecting our wildlife?
Maybe they were engaged in the dutiful harassment of citizens as they fish or boat Maine’s waters. At least the Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife has an excuse; there are more than enough stupid laws and regulations on the books to keep all of them busy 24/7.
Animal control officers have no excuse. They are paid to perform a service by taxpayers. If they cannot fulfill their duties, they should resign and pursue other avenues of work.
The incompetence of the government officials who work for us is astounding.
Now, because of electronic media and instant national coverage, the rest of the nation and possibly the world will see the “bumbling fools” that we have put in positions of authority and power in this state.
“Maine: the way life should be.” I think not!
