RUMFORD – Dr. Levi W. Sherwin, 86, died Saturday, Aug. 26, at his home in Rumford. He was a resident of Oxford Avenue in Rumford.
Born in Orange, Mass., on April 30, 1920, he was a son of Arthur and Elva (Wright) Sherwin. He was a graduate of Orange High School in Orange, Mass., and Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, Ind.
He started his chiropractic practice in Rumford in 1944, and he retired in 1982. He was a member of the Maine Chiropractic Association.
He was married in Bethel, on Aug. 21, 1949, to Gwendolyn Poland of Rumford, who survives. Other survivors include a son, David and his wife, Maureen of Litchfield, N.H.; and two grandsons, Eric and Gregory Sherwin of Litchfield, N.H.
He was predeceased by a sister, Sarah Sherwin.
