Fall fundraiser
WILTON – For the second consecutive year, the Wilton Blueberry Farm will contribute all the proceeds from a single day of picking blueberries to the annual fall fundraiser of the Wilton Free Public Library.
Jan Collins and Irv Faunce, owners and operators of the Blueberry Farm, said Saturday, Sept. 2, will be “Wilton Library Day.”
“Last year, blueberry pickers contributed over $1,200 to the operations of the library,” said the Collins-Faunce family. “We hope they do as well this year and support this wonderful asset for our community by picking and enjoying this healthy fruit.”
The farm, at 83 McLaughlin Road, features high bush blueberries. Picking to benefit the library will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the normal operating hours for the farm.
David Olsen, interim librarian at the Wilton library, said, “We appreciate the giving back from the community that this event signifies. The funds will go toward supporting and enhancing all library services.”
Musical program
LIVERMORE – Music in the Meeting House at North Livermore Baptist Church will end its summer season at 9:10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, with two local musicians, Emery Thompson and Van Hayden. There will be country music and fellowship.
