AUBURN – The West Paris Westies blanked the White Sox 3-0 in playoff action in the Senior Men’s Baseball League. The Sox loaded the bases in each of the first 3 innings but couldn’t produce a run against starting and winning pitcher Mike Godin.
Rick Whitney’s RBI double gave the Westies a 1-0 lead in the first. He knocked in another run with a single in the fourth. Matt Corbett finished the scoring with an RBI single in the seventh. The only repeat hitter for the Sox was Marc Gosselin. Socking multiple hits for West Paris were Mike McBride, Whitney and Kyle Kennison (3).
The Sox will next play Sept. 10, hosting the Fairfield Rockies at Pettengill in the double-elimination playoffs. The Rockies knocked off the Topsham Knights.
