NORWAY – Ilda Alma Voter, 93, of Avon, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the Norway Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident for the last two years.
She was born, March 31, 1913, in Avon, a daughter of Pearl and Lila Blanche (Pillsbury) Cushman. She attended and graduated from Phillips schools.
In 1933, she married, H. Cecil Voter at the Baptist Church in Farmington. He died on June 20, 2000.
She worked as a homemaker to her husband and children on the family farm. Later in life she provided nursing care to the local elderly.
She was a member of the Phillips Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved her church and spent many hours on church suppers and other church activities. She also enjoyed the many weeks during the summer her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbor kids spent at the farm.
She is survived by two daughters, Yoland Bubier of West Farmington and Sheila Campbell of West Paris; a sister, Alice Purington of Chesterville; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons, Erlon and Dahlon Voter; three brothers, Roy, Paul and Walter Cushman; three sisters, Pauline Voter, Pearl DiMuzio and a sister during infancy.
