BRUNSWICK – Walter Lewis Roehrig, 54, of Topsham, passed away on Aug. 29, at Mid Coast Hospital, after a long battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on Nov. 7, 1951, in Lisbon Falls, a son of the late Charles and Eveline (Gayton) Roehrig. He was educated in the Lisbon school system and graduated from Lisbon High School.
He went on to work as a truck driver for many years for New England Motor Freight. He loved the outdoors; he greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and being on his four-wheeler and snowmobile. He loved spending time with his nephews and taking them hunting. He also greatly enjoyed taking care of and spending time with his dog, “Foxy.”
He is survived by a sister, Cheryl Sweeny and husband, Robert; two brothers, Paul and wife, Annette and Glen and wife, Shirri, all of Topsham; his nieces and nephews, Melissa, Nikki, Trent, Troy, Brian, Charlie, Heather and Jennifer; as well as many close friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Karen Goodwin.
