AUBURN – Jerry A. “Pitou” Collins, 82, of 440 Minot Ave. and formerly of Turner, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Clover Health Care Facility following a short illness.
He was born in Lewiston on July 9, 1924, the son of Alexandre and Raffia (Roch) Collins and had been a resident of Turner since 1993.
He was employed as a laborer in the local textile industry for many years until his retirement.
He was a lifetime member of the New Auburn Social Club, Turner Senior Citizens and a parishioner of St. Philip’s Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Levesque and her husband, Edmond, of Turner; two sons, Albert Collins and his wife, Cathy, of Auburn and Lucien Collins of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Rita Bussiere of Windsor, Conn.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a special godchild, Rosemarie Pomerleau and her family of Auburn; many nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Theresa Bolduc of Lewiston.
He was predeceased by 16 brothers and sisters.
