Dear Sun Spots: Is there any one out there who can help us? We are in dire need of a wheelchair for a young student with cerebral palsy who needs it to get around at school. Can anyone out there help us? Please call WM at 592-8631. We would greatly appreciate it. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: Last year I received a yarn stash and wrote to you requesting knitters of mittens to give some to a local school. I had a wonderful response from 10 generous ladies to knit mittens for a local elementary school. They completed over 200 pairs along with several hats and scarves. I have another stash that I have collected for this year and am looking for volunteers to knit mittens for the Greene Elementary School and our Knitten for Kids project. After speaking with the social worker for that school, she noted that there was a need for this type of donation. Please call me at 755-9453 if you are able to assist me with this project this year. – Amy Guimond, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: We have something, I suspect a skunk, digging holes all over the yard. What can we do to stop this (other than a trap or shoot it)? – Carlene and John, Jay.

Dear Sun Spots: My wife and I have directed the inner-city youth ministry, The Jesus Party, for the last 11 years. With the help of generous people and their diverse resources we have been able to successfully minister to the spiritual needs of hundreds of area children. It would be a big help if there was a church organization that would be willing to donate leftover vacation Bible school materials, children’s church curriculum, Bibles that are in good condition, or any other children’s ministry resources. We can be reached at the Jesus Party, 291 Bates St., Lewiston, or please call us at 786-5568. – Rev. Douglas Taylor, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: I read your column every day and hope you can please help me as you have so many others. I have recently had to put my cat to sleep because she was old, sick and she started doing her business on my rugs. I have used Pet Odor and stain remover carpet cleaner, but the smell of urine is still there. Would you know of any solutions to get rid of this odor. I really appreciate any help you can please give me. Thanks for such a helpful column. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
Besides suggestions from readers, Sun Spots located several options and hopefully the following from www.stretcher.com will assist you. The site notes you need to try enzyme neutralizers. Among them Simple Solution or Nature’s Miracle. You should follow the directions for Nature’s Miracle exactly and saturate the area thoroughly with the product, also leaving it there the appropriate amount of time.

Perhaps others have some tips they’d also be willing to share with you.
