LEWISTON – Ernest A. Morissette, 102, formerly of 119 Dumont Ave., recently a resident of Odd Fellows Home in Auburn, died Thursday evening, Aug. 31, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.

He was born in St. Sabine, Quebec, Canada, on Jan. 7, 1904, the son of Louis and Zelia Chabot Morissette.

He was educated in Canadian schools and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was married July 16, 1949 to Isabelle Dubois, who predeceased him on Jan. 20, 2004.

He was employed as a weaver at Continental Mill and Bates Manufacturing Company prior to his retirement in 1969. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish, Association Canados-Americaine, l’Institut Jacques Cartier and American Legion Post # 22. He enjoyed working around his home.

He is survived by two daughters, Monita Lavoie of Yarmouth and Diane Morissette of Auburn; two grandsons, Jason Lavoie and wife, Kristen of Durham, and Christopher Lavoie of Portland; and a sister, Irene Beaudoin of Quebec, Canada.

He was predeceased by a stepson, Roland Caron; and five sisters and six brothers.
