LEWISTON – The State Rehabilitation Council, a governor-appointed advisory board, will hosting a free public forum on Vocational Rehabilitation from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Ramada Inn.
Vocational Rehabilitation, a program of the Maine Department of Labor, helps people with disabilities get jobs. The purpose of the forum is to solicit input from VR clients, providers and others about the system.
The forum will focus on three questions: what is working in VR and what should be preserved or expanded; what is not working and needs to be changed; and what should VR do that it currently isn’t doing.
Presenters will be asked to give examples and to make recommendations to improve services, if necessary.
Refreshments will be served. In order to be guaranteed an opportunity to speak, preregister by phone toll-free, 1-866-622-6655; e-mail [email protected]; or mail SRC, 126 Western Ave., PMB #171, Augusta, ME 04330.
