GRAY – The seventh annual fish and wildlife open house will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Maine Wildlife Park. This event is designed to showcase the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife’s programs, projects and personnel.
Wildlife and fisheries biologists, safety officers, hatchery staff and game wardens will be on hand to talk about their fishery, wildlife, safety and enforcement programs and projects.
Admission is free for all those attending, although a $1 donation to benefit the Maine Wildlife Park would be welcome to help support improvements to the wildlife exhibits and displays.
To raise funds for exhibit improvements, the Friends of the Maine Wildlife Park will sell a barbecue lunch. Burgers, hot dogs, potatoes, coleslaw, soda and apple pie will be on the menu and can be purchased for a small fee.
On Sunday, Sept. 10, Grandparents Day, Maine grandparents will be honored and will be admitted free when accompanied by their children and/or grandchildren.
