Reed family

HEBRON – The descendants of Mary Elizabeth Steward and Charles Franklin Reed held their annual reunion on Aug. 13 at the home of Richard and Jane Hatch, with 44 family members and three guests attending. A potluck lunch was held.

A business meeting was conducted by President Jane Hatch. The secretary’s report was read and accepted with one change in the number of family members present from 38 to 43.

The treasurer’s report was read and accepted. A moment of silence was observed in memory of Winnifred Rose and Bobby Reed, who died during the past year. E-mail messages were read from Ruby Hill and Walter Ethridge.

Officers elected for the ensuing year were: president, Jane Hatch; vice president, Kim Kobierski; secretary, Norma Gilbert; treasurer: Jonica Poole.

“Happy Birthday” was sung to Elizabeth Sampson, Scott Poole and Sherry Giberti.

The youngest member present was Jedrick Giberti, 2 months, and the most senior member was Lois Gordon, 86. Three babies joined the family this year: Jedrick Koberski, Hailey Giberti and Rylee Spadea.

Libby Sampson and her daughter, Jean, and son-in-law, Tom Worden, from California, as well as Eddie Reed from Florida joined the family this year.

Guests attending were Barbie Baker, Allan McKinney and Star Bergh.

Following the business meeting, an old-time reunion picture was presented to the members to see how many of the people in the picture could be named. Jane Hatch encouraged everyone to bring old pictures next year.The annual egg toss, pie-eating contest and a moon bounce were held, with prizes for all the kids.

The 2007 reunion will be held on Aug. 12 at the Hatch home.

Lloyd family

DIXFIELD – The descendants of James C. and Mary Ellen Crawford Lloyd gathered for the annual family reunion at the Mountain View Campground on Aug. 5. A Hawaiian luau was the theme. A potluck luncheon was served and craft items, donated by family members, were raffled. Lloyd reunion T-shirts were sold for the treasury.

The winner of the 50/50 raffle was Michael O’Neil of Salem, Mass., who donated it back to the treasury.

There were 62 in attendance, traveling from various areas around the state and from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Florida. Traveling the furthest distance was Barbara Whitehouse of West Palm Beach, Fla.

The oldest member present was William Morse Sr., 82, of Mexico, and the youngest members were Esperamza Faith Kenney, 1 year, daughter of Teresa and Jeff Kenney of Lisbon Falls, and Jordan Elizabeth Hanson, 18 months, daughter of Troy Hanson and Wendy Vachon of Hollis.

Photographs, reminiscing and memories were shared. The family’s most recent loss was Mary Ellen Giroux.

Members were reminded to submit recipes for the family cookbook. Susan Pike will continue to be the secretary for the event and Donna Hanson and Cindy Archibald will remain treasurers.

The next reunion will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at the Mountain View Campground and subsequent reunions will now be held on the first Saturday of August.
