AUBURN – The American Cancer Society’s annual Relay For Life of Androscoggin County at Edward Little High School raised more than $80,000 this year thanks to funds raised by walkers, participants and sponsors.
“Many area businesses, like Lee Auto Mall of Auburn, stepped up to the challenge to make this year’s Relay For Life of Androscoggin County the most successful ever,” said Sally Davis, volunteer chairwoman for the 2006 American Cancer Society Relay For Life. “The people of Androscoggin County really showed their community spirit.”
Lee Auto Mall was instrumental in helping promote Relay For Life through their donation of $15,000 in local television advertising during June. In addition, Lee Auto Mall pledged to donate $100 for every Dodge Ram and Dodge Caravan sold during June. As a result, on Aug. 10, John Issacson presented a check for more than $5,400 to the American Cancer Society.
