NORWAY – Vernon A. Bonney, 78, of Norway died Monday, Sept. 4, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Hartford on March 23, 1928, to Tolman and Eda (Brown) Bonney. Vern married the former Nancy Luce on June 13, 1953.

He had worked most of his life as a mechanic. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion and Evening Star Lodge 147 AF and AM of Buckfield.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Norway; one brother, Clarence Bonney of Minot; three sons, Peter and his wife, Kathy, of Oxford, Daniel and his wife, Gale, of Sanford and David and his wife, Leslie, of Newry; four grandchildren, Haley, Karalee, Megan and Trenton; and one great-grandson, Ayden.

He was predeceased by his parents; and one brother, Eugene Bonney.
