AUBURN – Denis R. Breton, 49, of Lewiston, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 3, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice of pancreatic cancer with his family by his side. He was born July 27, 1957.
He served the City of Lewiston as a devoted firefighter and retired due to injuries after 24 years of service.
He was a member of several clubs in Lewiston. He enjoyed his dogs, hunting, fishing, camping, as well as many friends who were always happy to see him and constantly wondered what he was up to next.
He is survived by his mother, Jeannine Breton Cloutier and her husband, Denis’ stepfather, George, of Lewiston; one sister, Pauline J. Cloutier and her husband, Don, of Monmouth; four brothers, Bert Breton and his wife, Gloria, of Turner, Don Breton and Lorna of Mechanic Falls, Mark Breton and his wife, Joyce, of Auburn and Rick Breton and Sarah, of Auburn; three stepbrothers, Bert Cloutier and his wife, Vangie, of Lewiston, Dan and Wanda Cloutier and Mike and Pauline Cloutier, both of Edgewater, Fla.; one stepsister, Joan Stops and her husband, Dave, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; 20 nieces and nephews; his best friend, Buddy and his wife, Joan Gellatly; and his fellow brothers in the Lewiston Fire Department, who he respected and cherished so dearly.
He was predeceased by his father, Roger R. Breton.
A special thank you to all his family and friends who took the time to visit while he was ill, to the ICU and C2 staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center and to the compassionate professionals at the Hospice House in Auburn.
