Regarding the article “Bush can pedal” (Aug. 30), I can’t help but wonder if Dubbya spent less time perfecting the art of mountain biking and more time studying the culture of the Middle East, developing a plan to tackle the rebuilding of New Orleans, and implementing a war on poverty in our country, how different our world might be today.

Oh, and with whatever time he had left at the end of the day, perhaps he could hone his public speaking skills.

But mountain biking is a lot more fun than all that hard work, I guess.
