PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – Police are looking for two pickpockets they say stole the wallet of an elderly patient at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Police say surveillance camera images taken last month show two men getting on an elevator with an elderly man. As one man fakes a leg injury to distract the patient, the other man steps in to take his wallet.
Authorities say the men racked up $4,000 in charges at outlet stores in Kittery, Maine.
They suspect the same two men may be responsible for similar incidents at hospitals in Portland and Brunswick, Maine.
