AUBURN – Edna L. Wood, 88, of Buckfield, died Thursday, Sept. 7, after a long illness.

She was born in Hudson, N.H., on Aug. 8, 1918, the daughter of Elmer H. and Armelia M. (Obin) Holbrook and attended Hudson schools.

Edna had been a homemaker all of her life.

She is survived by two sons, Stephen F. Wood of New Hampshire, and Richard R. Wood of Londonderry, N.H.; two daughters, Cheryl A. Gower of Lebanon, and Roberta Shackford of Buckfield; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd E. Wood; and a son, Floyd P. Wood.
