FREEPORT – Mary Lewis had a goal and an assist as St. Dom’s defeated Freeport 3-0 in a matchup between the undefeated WMC field hockey teams Saturday.

Lewis fed Amanda Mayette the first goal of the game and dribbled the ball the length of the field to score the final tally in the second half. Erika Vanderwerfe also scored for the Saints (3-0), and Katie Landry had a pair of assists.

Austyn Carolin stopped nine shots, and fullbacks Chelsea St. Onge, Chelsea Fournier, and Annie Butts played outstanding defense in the shutout.

Girls’ soccer

Buckfield 3, Vinalhaven 1

BUCKFIELD – Ashlee Hamman contributed a pair of goals, including the game-winner, as Buckfield overtook Vinalhaven 3-1 in EWC girls’ soccer action Saturday.

The Vikings (1-2) and Bucks (3-0-1) traded goals in the first half. Hamman made her way through three players in the second half on her way to a position on the left side of the goal cage where she booted the ball inside the goal post.

Kayla Jordan and Amy Reauter shared goalkeeper duties for the Bucks with eight combined saves.

Boys’ soccer

Vinalhaven 3, Buckfield 1

BUCKFIELD – Oakley Jackson scored on a defensive miscue to notch the eventual game-winner as Vinalhaven closed the doors with a 3-1 win over Buckfield in boys’ soccer action Saturday.

The Bucks (1-2) drew first blood with an unassisted goal by Kyle Rines two minutes into the contest.

The Vikings (3-1) clawed back with three unanswered goals. Andrew Guptil and Jackson tallied goals in the first half, while Keith Drury closed ranks with a goal in the second half.

Nathan Corson had 18 saves for Buckfield in the loss.

Brunswick 5, EL 1

AUBURN – Kyle Sullivan was credited with two goals as Brunswick ran past Edward Little 5-1 in boys’ soccer Saturday.

Sullivan was given credit for an own-goal by the Eddies, and scored an unassisted goal in the second half.

Mark St. Hilaire scored the lone goal for EL (2-2). Tom Williams and Josh Mains split the goaltending duties in the Eddies’ net, combining for seven saves.

Traip 6, St. Dom’s 0

KITTERY – Undefeated Traip scored three goals on penalty kicks to break open the game, downing St. Dom’s 6-0 in WMC action.

Matt Downs scored a pair of goals from the penalty stripe, and Tyler Metivier and Ryan Birse each scored for the Rangers.

Keeper Joe Bonneau stopped nine shots in his first varsity start for the Saints (1-1-1).

Connor Kuehl turned aside four shots for the shutout win for Traip (3-0).
