Here comes the state once again to protect us. We are drinking much too much water, especially if it comes from the cold, clear spring in Peru.
Everyone who reads this carries a minute amount of coliform on their hands. That includes whoever obtains the specimens and those who do the examination.
There exists no record of ill effects from persons consuming water from this spring. Perhaps we would have no coliform at all if the recommendations of the late Dick Dupuis were followed the last time the source was cleaned up. Sealing of the tiles was required, as well as capping off the top with blue clay, to prevent surface water from seeping in.
Was that done? Apparently not.
The adjacent bottling source has no problems.
