LIVERMORE FALLS – Elizabeth Roseman Taylor Lufkin, 88, a resident of the Parkview Living Center in Livermore Falls, died Friday, Sept. 8, at her home following a short illness.

She was born March 29, 1918, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Carl Hall and Martha (Taylor) Lufkin.

Soon after graduating from Livermore Falls High School in 1936, she attended the Chandler Secretarial School in Boston.

Following her education, she moved to Hartford, Conn., where she found employment at the Hartford Institute for Living. She held several positions of increasing responsibility until she retired from the Institute in 1982.

In her retirement, she developed a strong desire to come back to Maine, so in 1991, she moved to Farmington, where she made many friends and was active in the Democratic Party, attending several party conventions. This past spring, she returned to Livermore Falls.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Lufkin, of Livermore Falls; her sister-in-law, Geraldine Lufkin, also of Livermore Falls; and a nephew, John Lufkin of Randolph.

She was predeceased by her brother, William Lufkin, in 2005, and her sister, Carla, in 1925.
