LEWISTON – Road crews will close Canal Street between Main and Lisbon streets this week nightly beginning at 7 p.m.

Crews will be grinding off a little more than an inch of old pavement, preparing the road for a new top coat later this month. The work is scheduled to continue nightly this week through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured onto Lincoln and Park streets during the project.

Minor work, including digging and repairs, are scheduled along the road next week and it’s scheduled to be repaved the week of Sept. 25.
