LEWISTON – “Healing Principles of Chinese Medicine: Easing into Autumn with the Five Elements of Chinese Medicine” will be the topic of the first installment of a five-part Cancer Wellness and Support Group series set to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Central Maine Medical Center.
Physician assistant Sally Van Snepson, a licensed acupuncturist, will discuss the principles and benefits of Chinese medicine, focusing on nutrition and seasonal eating for people living with cancer.
Van Snepson graduated from Bastyr University in Seattle with a master’s degree in acupuncture and later earned her a physician assistant degree from the University of New England in Biddeford. She is a member of the clinical staff at the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The free program will be offered from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Conference Room I at CMMC.
The CMMC Cancer Wellness and Support Group is open to people living with cancer, as well as their spouses/partners, family members and caregivers.
