AUBURN – Lorette C. Levasseur, 82, a resident of 145 Walnut St., Lewiston died Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Androscoggin Hospice House with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Nov. 24, 1923, the daughter of William and Tharcille Cote. She was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. She attended local schools, and married her husband, Robert Levasseur in 1943.

She raised a family and was a business women owning Lorette’s Beauty Salon in Lewiston from 1958 until her illness in 2006. She loved shopping and dining out with friends, but most of all she loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Pauline Blaylock of Lewiston and Arlene Collins and her husband, James, of Livermore Falls; two sisters, Jeannette Bergeron of Newport, R.I. and Gilberte Landry of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Proctor and her husband, Richard, of Baltimore, Md., Katherine Dumont of Baltimore, Md., Peter Dumont and his wife, Erin, of Edmonton, Alberta, Christopher Collins and his wife, Kimberly, of Long Island, N.Y. and Adam Collins of South Portland; and three great-grandchildren, Samantha Proctor, Lauren Dumont and Luke Dumont.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1980; one brother, Andrew Cote; and one sister, Rita Higgins.
